Cooking with Peter 5 - Another Bro's night

Not so long ago we planned another Bro's Night. It was Neda, Stefan, Shaun and I only tho. Ever since I saw an Epic Mealtime video on the internet about a fast food lasagna i wanted to do it, and I put this idea forwards as well. Neda didn't believe in the plan in the beginning, Shaun was eager as well and Stefan.. well Stefan always agrees to anything :) I convinced Neda to just try it, and as soon as we got the groceries and headed to her place we figured it wasn't only Neda who did not believe in the plan. Her mom made some other food in case we failed. This kind of made me sad, but she's never heard of our incredible cooking skills so we had to convince her as well. Her parents left the house, we started cooking. Neda minced the cheese, I cooked the meat sauce to which Stefan cut up the onions and Shaun made epic bacon weaves for layers in between the lasagna. After everything was ready we started creating. A layer of cheesburgers, than a layer of boiling meat sauce, a layer of bacon weave and then cheese. Repeat! On the very top we left a thinner layer of cheese so it cooks properly in the oven. It not only melted, but burnt a little bit, like on a pizza which made it perfect. I only have one picture, but I'll ask others to send me, or more pictures can be seen on their posts as well :) Yummy!
There is actually a video on Shaun's tablet when we cut it up and sort it out but I'm singing in the background so I chose not to upload it. Terrible noise :P

Lunch time coaching

Since I go to the gym a lot, even after school and during lunchbreak David and Fancesco asked me if I could suggest them anything so they can work out as well. Unfortunatelly the school equipment is pretty poor and unreliable but everything is possible if we have a barbell, dumbells and a bar, since most compund exercises can be done with them (bench, squats, deadlifts, lunges and rowing). This is my first time coaching anyone and I feel alive with it. I honestly don't know what kind of coach I am but I know my dream is to be a professional trainer. I like to make people enthusiastic about sport, set goals for them, and encourage a helathy lifestyle. I really can't imagine myself doing anything else in life, only if I really need to. This is a perfect chance for me to see if I'm good for the job and as far as i see it they like working out and others spotted my enthusiasm about it as well. I like the feeling. I have to be honest I'vee beeen lifting myself for so long (about two years) than I dont even remember problems that occured to me when I was'nt aware of the rules of bodybuilding. Its hard to realize that other might struggle with exercises I'm already comfortable with yet I'm trying to do my best. Sometimes I'm scared and make all the possible safety steps so no trouble occurs to Dave and Francesco (they don't get injured) but Im not an official trainer (yet). I'm not fully aware of tihngs of course. I don't have pictures but I will ask someone to take them sometime. Probably tomorrow, since we are all doing it every lunchbreak. The reason why I'm happy this opportunity was given is because I can also fulfill other Service requirements and help them in their Activity part of CAS as well. Pictures coming soon :)

Cooking with Peter (long time no update :( )

I havent updated for a while on my cooking, but unfortunately I was busy on weekends studying and honestly, my parents did the cooking... This weekend I managed to make time for myself to cook some 'Rizses hús' which is as simple as cooking up carrots, some pork, rice, some spices and cook it for a while. The carrots give a real good taste to it so my dad loves it :) I didn't try it actually, only when it was ready just to see what I made, but I honestly hate the taste of pork. Yet it is useful to practice since if my dad is not around I can cook it with chicken (he thinks that chicken is 'not meat' so I can't really cook those foods which he likes with chicken...) I also learned to cook a soup called 'Tárkonyos soup'. We cooked that with chicken so i just ate that instead.. the special thing about the soup is that when its ready you just put the juice of half a lemon in the bowl and it brings out all the taste :) This I'm definetly happy I learned, but this was intructed by my mother (she really knows how to cook it) Since both recipies are simple but tasty it was easy to learn making it! Here are some pictures of them. I think next time I will be able to do them without any help, really!

Weather club

Even though Weather Club started a while ago and data has been collected ever since since we work collaboretively together  on this, it is still debatable what the real purpose is going to be. I'm hoping that we have stats from previous years of Weather Clubs, therefore we will be able to comapre this year's results and draw a conclusion whether Global Warming does take place in Moscow (therefore dealing with issues on a global scale )? If previous stats are not available I was thinking of posting the month's weather on the CAS board every month in a neat was to serve the purpose of inroming other students about weather changes in moscow, maybe giving a chance to next year's students to compare next year's weather with ours to do what we couldnt due to the lacking previous data. I just posted to mobilize the team on the topic so soon I will be updating what other ideas might pop into our heads to give a purpose to our Weather Club :)

This is how our plan looks like so far, and when I update next time I will include the picture of the data collected already!

Cooking with Peter 3 - Bro's Night

Last year we planned, cooked, filmed and ate a whole Pizza Burger which we though would be delicious. It was, however it was the ugliest food on earth and was falling apart by each second. The reason why we planned it was because Bros love food, and well we though we could be creative as well. Last Friday we made it again, and needless to say, it was beautiful. We put bacon weave, cheese, tomatoes, chicken nuggets and a huge ground beef pattie in it, allowing it to be called The Pizza Burger. We all worked hard on it for as long as 5 hourss including shopping and fooling around, figuring a way to cook it. My mom made us the pizzadough this time which was fluffy and white and perfect. The bacon weave was fried in a toast maker, onions were caramelized in a pen, the pizza was cooked in the oven but only after we cooked the meat well. I actually thought th pattie will fall apart, but after we cooked it with a lid on, then without for about an hour or so it came out pefrect, stiff. We were all proud of our first pizzaburger and so decided to meet more often to cook something epic together. Here's the only but amazing picture Neda took :) (She is considered as a Bro along with Shaun, Daniel, Stefan and Me)

Cooking with Peter 2

I actually don't know it is a Hungarian meal but I only heard us doing it so far. If I had to translate it it would be 'Layered cauliflower'. By its name it usually has layers in it(Layer of cauliflower, layer of sourcream, layer of bacon and fried breadcrumps, then repeat). And if there are no more layers, cover the whole thing in cheese, than put in in the oven and let it cook until the cheese gets crispy and brown. So we made it, but unfortunately I only realized I didn't take pictures only after the cooking, however I tried to get a normal shot with my phone on one of the slices.

It was actually amazing. I finished about 5-6 of these slices today... My next food might be anotherone like this, but called Layered potatoes, which has the same structure, but includes slight differences which make it a whole different :)

110kg - earlier than I thought

On one of my chest-days at the gym I decided to go ahead and try 107.5kg benchpress. It was'nt easy but I did it and I thought why not try 110kg? So I did, and I suceeded. I needed Shaun's help to spot me in case I drop it but it went okay. I was still concerned though... I decided not to reflect it on my blog, since I wasn't sure if it was a one-time thing or I really can do it. The next time we hit gym with Shaun I went straight for a 110 and just for the sake of proving it I recorded it. Now I'm confident about posting that I did bench my goal, stepping to the next part. I think the reason why I could do it was the big change we decided to make in our workouts. Instead of the regular 4sets/8-12reps we are going for 10/3reps which is basically rather strength training than bodybuilding (there is a difference :)) Anyway, I hit my goal and my next one is to bench 112.5kg in about a month or two. It's harder than one might think but I'll do my best :)

Here's the video of my benching my last goal:
